Chelsea beat Sheffield United to qualify for FA Cup semifinals

They were far from their best, but Chelsea reached the FA Cup semi-finals thanks to another clean sheet against Sheffield United.

The Blues dominated the ball but created a few chances in the first half before a Ben Chilwell cross was diverted to the back post via Oliver Norwood’s outstretched leg.

Aaron Rumsdale dismissed Christian Pulisic early in the second half, but Blades then dominated the final third of the match and David McGoldrick will face nightmares about a missed goal with a header from inside the six-yard zone.

Coach Thomas Tuchel’s team kept a clean sheet for the seventh time in a row and a place in the quarter-finals, and concluded the late goal scored by substitute Hakim Ziyech.

The semi-finals will be played at Wembley this weekend from April 17-18.
