GRNMA: 789 NURSES AND MIDWIVES TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 SINCE JANUARY 2021

According to GRNMA, around 789 nurses and midwives have tested positive for covid-19 since January. This was revealed by the general secretary of the association on a program on JoyNews.

GRNMA Secretary-General David Tinkurang Toum also mentioned that about 840 nurses and midwives were infected with the Coronavirus last year. This brings the total to about 1629 cases Since the outbreak of the disease with 4 deaths.

It raised concerns that some nurses who tested positive for the virus had been called in to work without isolating themselves but have since been resolved. Insurance and incentive packages promised for frontline health workers who were injured in the line of duty have also been disrupted. Many did not receive it, had their names removed, or received less than they were promised.
