Acceptance of candidates for a bachelor’s degree. And additional diploma programs in nursing, midwifery, emergency nursing, and community health nursing for the academic year 2021/2022





Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for undergraduate admission. And diploma increase programs in the Nursing Department, College of Health Sciences, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.

Sandwich Sessions (June – August 2020)

  1. Postgraduate diploma programs (sandwich: June – August 2020)
  • General Nursing Diploma
  • Midwifery diploma
  • Community Health Nursing Diploma

Admission requirements

  1. BSC. Programs
  • Emergency nursing
  • General nursing

Hold a nursing diploma with a good grade and have at least two (2) years’ work experience.

Holders of a midwifery diploma with a good grade and have work experience of at least two (2) years.

Hold a good diploma in Community Health Nursing and have work experience of at least two (2) years



Note: Applicants with a diploma obtained through the KNUST-MoH program can apply for undergraduate programs in their respective majors.

  1. Higher diploma programs (sandwich)

Applicants who meet the university’s minimum requirements of six (6) credits including English, Mathematics and Integrated Sciences with at least three (3) years’ work experience.

or

Applicants must hold a permit at the Institute for Distance Learning (IDL), KNUST Access program, and have at least three (3) years’ work experience.

In addition, applicants must meet the following specific requirements in the various programs as follows;

Diploma in General Nursing

  • Must hold a Medical Assistant Certificate (HAC) registered with the Ghana Nursing and Midwifery Council with a valid personal identification number.

Diploma in Community Health Nursing

  • You must be a certified Community Health Nurse (CHN) registered with the Ghana Nursing and Midwifery Council with a valid personal identification number.

Midwifery

  • The midwifery certificate holder must be EN / CHN / HAC
  • Must be a direct-born midwifery certificate holder and registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ghana with a valid personal identification number.

Method of application

  • Applicants must purchase an e-voucher by paying the application fee at Ghana Post Limited.
  • On payment of the application fee, candidates will receive an electronic voucher containing the application number and PIN that grants access to the online admission portal.
  • Candidates should then go to the online admission site at apps.knust.edu.gh/admissions and begin the application process.
  • Once the process is completed, candidates must print out two (2) copies of the completed application form from the portal and submit it to the Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs, KNUST along with all relevant documents (copies of certificates and transcripts)
