The Secret Service was alerted to the video messages in early March after being sent via JPay, an app that allows media sharing between prisoners and those outside. Authorities learned of the threats after her husband revealed them.

According to the federal complaint, the letters “generally depict Phelps complaining and speaking angrily to the camera about her hatred for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, among others.”

“However, in these videos, Phelps made statements about the killing of Vice President Harris,” the complaint adds.
